a fun interview with 10 ANSWERS

I was recently interviewed for the website 10  ANSWERS which was created by the New York City designer and writer, Rebecca Silver.  I loved her questions (she asks all the interviewees the same questions.)  It was nice to take the time to reflect and think about what my answers would be.  I'm in the good company of Mark Bittman, Steven Heller and Caralie Bickford-Smith who also answered questions for Rebecca, along with many other creative people from around the world.

shop on february 24th

Our online shop will be open for business this week!  Our first sale will start on Thursday, February 24th, at noon (EST) and go thru Monday, February 28th, until noon (EST.) You'll be able to access our the sale thru the shop button which you will find on our website and blog, but not until Thursday!  So please don't expect to see it sooner!  This sale will have smaller bowls and plates, along with a few serving pieces.  The palette will be in sea blue, white, oatmeal, sky blue, indigo and robin's egg.  In my next sale I will do larger pieces and bring back the deeper shades of peacock and ocean that many of you have made such lovely comments about.  My apologies for not being able to include them in this sale.  Hopefully you will find something you like.  And, yes, we will ship worldwide!

our very own shop

Our first sale will be on Thursday, February 24th through our online shop!  This is a big step for my small business and I am really looking forward to making my work available.  I will be sending out an announcement email later this week with the time we'll be open for business. Look for the shop links on our site and blog (they will appear close to the 24th.)  I plan to sell a small batch of pieces every month, or so.  Please keep in mind that everything is one of a kind, so nothing will be kept in stock.  If you want to receive updates on my sales please join my mailing list.  Thank you, everyone, for being so patient!

tissue paper elevated to a whole new level

photos copyright ConfettiSystem

Who knew that tissue paper could be so luxurious?  I love the magic that the duo behind ConfettiSystem is making.  Julie Ho and Nicholas Anderson created ConfettiSystem from their shared love of communal celebration and craft-making.  Their creations make me want to throw a party just so they can decorate it!

a day at the beach

Christian Chaize, a self-taught French artist, lives and works in Lyon, France.  This image is from an ongoing series he has been shooting along a small stretch of coastline in southern Portugal. He delights in observing the unrevealed narratives of the beach goers who, through his lens, share in its magical spell.
