On Monday Remodelista posted a piece about my apartment in is a little bit taken from their site.....go here to read more....

Michele Michael of Elephant Ceramics takes us on a tour of her cheery Red Hook, Brooklyn, apartment, with a recently remodeled kitchen and appealing splashes of color.
About a year and a half ago, Michael and her husband, children's book author and illustrator Patrick Moore, decided the kitchen needed an overhaul ("we cook all the time, and we needed more counter space and more storage," Michael says). They reconfigured the space to create an open floor plan with a free-standing work counter; Moore, who is a skilled carpenter, designed and built the kitchen cabinetry using marine grade plywood with a white laminate.
Throughout the apartment, Michael's own organically shaped ceramics with painterly glazes add dashes of color and texture; to learn more about her ceramics and to join the mailing list, go to Elephant Ceramics (her next sale is on Tuesday, July 31).

Please note that I will be delaying my next sale....the next update will be in the early fall.

Thank you, Julie, at Remodelista!  My dear friend, Philip Ficks (who shoots all my Elephant Ceramic images), spent a day with me shooting my space.  Thank you, Philip, for the gorgeous images!  Thank you, Brin and Nathan at Breuckelen Berber, for letting me live with those stunning Moroccan carpets for a short time!

summer in maine

I know it has been awhile since I last posted.  I have been gathering inspiration for my work
by taking time in nature.  Also, my new ceramic studio is very, very close to being finished!
I am hoping to get back to work next week if all goes well with the finishing touches and kiln
installation.  In the meantime, my canoe trips have been very inspiring!
