heather chontos and me

photo and styling by Heather Chontos

This is a follow-up to an earlier post showing the beautiful works of art by the artist, Heather Chontos. Heather made the paintings shown here in exchange for the platter I made for her shown above.  I've long been an admirer of Heather's art and her styling.  She is an amazing talent.  Now she has started a consultancy and design service, so now you have the opportunity to hire her to create the beautiful interiors that she has been designing for so many years, for you!

food & wine september issue

I love Food & Wine magazine, and often turn to them to find an interesting new recipe to try out. When the the style editor at F&W, Jessica Romm, called to ask me to create a piece specifically for their September issue's "Art of Summer Cooking" I couldn't have been more thrilled!  The story was to showcase the best the season has to offer shot on handcrafted pieces.  Here is a link to the recipe for these delicious looking sardines. Thank you, Jessica, for including me in your feature!

What a great surprise to see a couple of my pieces on the cover of the August issue of Real
Simple magazine!  The gorgeous styling is by prop stylist  Michele Faro.  Thanks, Michele!

design*sponge interview

Have you seen What's in Your Toolbox? column on design*sponge?  The talented stylist, designer and illustrator Ginny Branch Stelling is the person behind it.  She interviews creative types to find out what inspires them, what shapes their process and how they manage to stay organized.  I was the interviewee yesterday!  You can see my interview here.  You can also check out Ginny's blog where you will see her beautiful illustrations and portfolio of work.
